Part 4: Rendering your Animation
The last leg of this tour
is Outputting your animation to the desired
format. Let's take a look at just how this is done.

>>Rendering in
LightWave®

Step 1: Click on Camera to
make it the current item.

Step 2: select Item
Properties
to bring up the Camera properties
panel..

Step 3: Choose
what resolution you would like to render the animation
to here:

Step 4: Choose
what Anti-Alias setting you would like to apply to
your animation (Enhanced Low is works quite well
for video, and takes advantage of LightWave®'s
rendering speed).

Step 5: Once you
have the settings you want close the window.

Step 6: Open the
Render Panel.

Step 7: We want
to render the entire animation so we need to change
the "Render Last Frame" input field
to "180".

Step 8: Make sure
that Auto Frame Advanced is selected. If it
isn't selected, the LightWave® would render the
first frame and wait for your to tell it to render
the next.

Step 9: We should
turn the "Render Display" to "none".
Thee is no reason to have it on when we plan to render
to a file.

Step 10: Click
on the Output Tab. This is where you tell
LightWave® what format you want to render to
and where you want the file(s) to be saved.

For this example We'll
select AVI as the Type.

Step 11: Clicking
on Options allows you to choose the type of
Compressor and the Quality of the AVI.

Step 12: Clicking
the Animation File button allows you to name
the file and choose the location you would like to
save it to.

Step 13: Once you've
told LightWave® where the file is going to be
saved, Press F10 to begin rendering. You can
watch your Rendering in progress with the Render
Status Window.

Conclusion:
Once the animation is
complete, locate the file, sit back, and enjoy the
movie. ...There are a lot of options you have for
rendering. For more information on the numerous formats,
look in the LightWave® Documentation. Click Below
to Continue.

Part 5: Conclusion
We've just scratched the surface of what is possible
with Logo animations. To add additional drama to the
scene, ou may want to consider adding dynamic video
to the background or track lights behind the logo with
lens flares. In any event, please be sure to visit
the LightWave
3D® Tutorials
section for many
more useful techniques to maximize your mastery of
the Art of 3D.
